Training is such an influential and crucial factor in making the best use of people, making them more effective/confident and helping each one of them to help themselves to achieve their potential. Businesses benefit also from having well trained people.
The main purpose of this section is to try to collate 'what's on offer' in and around the Crowborough area. It is not intended to promote one business / organisation more than another; business people still have to make their own choices and decisions.

Identifying local sources and having easy access to training on offer within reasonable travelling distance is particularly important especially in the current and predicted economic climate.

Eventually, the list of and links to individual training sources will comprise the widest possible range of providers; the criteria for inclusion must be training that is business related. In addition to links to training programmes, this particular page will also include general items that are considered to be training related e.g. Management Training tips / Newsletters or links to them (always open to suggestions!!)
AN INVITATION TO LOCAL TRAINING PROVIDERS
This page is available to virtually anyone undertaking any form or type of training that benefits businesses in some way.
Some may want a link to their Home Page; others may want a link to their calendar of courses. It's down to the individual business.
Training providers can choose their preferred link. In addition to their link, what is needed is a short introduction about them / their business / what types of course etc., they offer.
This would enable access to a list of the individual personal/company names of each provider followed by a précis (about 50 words) of their courses etc., - then their chosen link. That would hopefully make it easier for researchers to identify which link would be the most appropriate.

Three/four years ago, I had planned to carry out some projects to promote local skills training and work towards establishing small business units that offered variable and flexible short term leases for start up and micro-businesses in and around the Crowborough area. I was going to do this with very active support and a great deal of enthusiasm from a remarkable man who not only rose from the shop floor to becoming the MD of an international engineering company but also made a significant contribution to training and enterprise in Kent and the South East.
Wally Lambert was his name and he came to quite a few of our events. He was a man of many talents – had a jazz band, built his own sports car, was an excellent chairman and an active committee/board member, shared his vast knowledge and experience of business and life, was a respected developer of people but rather shy of broadcasting being awarded a well deserved OBE for his nationally recognised contribution to training.
Wally died a little while ago. I hope anyone who reads this will understand why I am dedicating this Training Page to his qualities, skills and personal and business achievements, the example he set for others and the passion he portrayed for the manufacturing industry as well as for getting things done and the best out of people.
